Product information "E-Mail Address for Invoices in Shopware 6"
Invoices where they are actually needed
E-Mail Address for Invoices adds a field for a second e-mail address to the customer account in Shopware 6, to which invoice documents are sent automatically.
In companies, the person who orders is rarely the person who processes the invoice. Until now both e-mails go to the same address and are forwarded by hand. With the plugin, your customer enters an invoice address themselves — order information and documents separate without any effort from your team.
Your benefits with E-Mail Address for Invoices
- Documents reach accounting: Invoices and cancellation invoices go to the address stored for that purpose.
- Customers maintain it themselves: The additional address is entered in the customer account and can be removed there again.
- No risk with an empty field: If no second address is stored, Shopware's standard behaviour remains unchanged.
- You define the scope: In the configuration you choose which document types the additional address applies to.
Features at a glance
A second e-mail field in the customer account
The field is available in the customer account and can be viewed and maintained in the Shopware administration.
Assigning document types
In the plugin settings you define which documents the address is used for — all stored types are available, typically invoice and cancellation invoice.
Fallback to the account address
Without an entry, Shopware continues to send to the e-mail address of the customer account.
Removing the address again
On the customer page there is a link for removing the stored invoice address.
Handling of older orders
A setting determines whether the current invoice address from the customer account also applies to orders created before the change. It is disabled by default, in which case the address stored at the time of the order applies.

E-Mail Address for Invoices FAQ
By default, the address that was stored at the time of the order, so an invoice sent later for an old order goes to the address from back then. If you want to handle this differently, activate the setting “Use current account invoice email for existing orders”. Then the address currently stored in the customer account applies to every dispatch, including for older orders.
Then nothing changes. In this case, Shopware uses the email address of the customer account as the recipient address, as usual. So you neither have to adjust templates nor urge customers to enter anything; the field only takes effect where it is filled in.
You decide. In the plugin configuration, under “Assigned documents”, you select the document types for which the invoice address should apply, for example invoice and cancellation invoice. The available options are the document types created in your shop under Settings → Shop → Documents. All other emails continue to go to the regular account address.
In two ways. Right at registration, after selecting the account type, the checkbox “Use additional invoice email” appears; when it is activated, the input field opens up. Later, the address can be maintained at any time in the customer account under “Personal profile”, where there is also a link to remove it. In your administration, you can see the address in the customer account in the custom fields area and, if shown via the list settings, as a separate column in the customer overview.
